As a new day begins in the small American town of Minninnewah, the residents start their day as ordinary as the next. Mother Nature, however, has other plans for them. Inhabitants have just 13 minutes to seek shelter before the largest tornado on record ravages the town, leaving them struggling to protect their loved ones and fighting for their lives. Left to deal with the aftermath, four families must overcome their differences and find strength in each other in order to survive.

Fourteen years after her son and estranged husband were presumed lost at sea, Kristen believes she glimpses them in the background of a friend's recent vacation video.

There is a mystery there and the answer lies somewhere between Bermuda, Puerto Rico and Miami. Hundreds of boats and planes have disappeared in the ocean with little or no trace at all. Most of these cases can be explained quite easily by human error or bad weather. But there are some that defy all explanation. Theories abound on these causes: Aliens, massive gas eruptions and freak waves. The documentary reveals that the boats and planes face a real danger in a triangle, but the true threat is often as strange as the wildest theory.

Three couples meet at random at 'The Rest', a remote coastal holiday cottage which each believes they've booked for a weekend break. Initially hostile to each other's intrusion, they eventually decide to make the best of it in the large, rambling house. As the weekend unfolds and the weather closes in, drawing with it an escalating series of strange, unexplainable events, they soon find themselves trapped by a terrifying supernatural force.
