A young woman, recently released from a mental hospital, gets a job as a secretary to a demanding lawyer, where their employer-employee relationship turns into a sexual, sadomasochistic one.

Dawn isn't like other kids her age full of typical teenage angst about boys, school and parents. Her pain goes far deeper, and to deal with her emotional overload she physically cuts herself. Crash 'n' Burn is an experimental film shot in and named after Toronto, Ontario's first punk rock club. (Not to be confused with Peter Vronsky's similarly titled 1977 documentary on the Toronto punk scene made for the CBC television network.) The film, shot on 16mm black-and-white stock, features performances by Dead Boys, Teenage Head, The Boyfriends, and The Diodes".

Sammy is a teenage cutter living with her meth addicted mother in a trailer on the Indian Ridge Reservation. Her mother's boyfriend is a drug dealer using the reservation as a cover for his drug trafficking. David, Sammy's best friend, is a foster youth and helps her to escape from this dysfunctional life she's had to endure since her father died.
